More than a week after Calgary’s critical water main break, which sparked pleas for people to conserve water under tight restrictions, city officials say it will now take three to five more weeks. Citing investigations that revealed more areas of the pipe need to be repaired than initially anticipated, city officials say there will be more details to come on the water conservation strategy as they aim to repair the newly found areas of concern. Calgary’s mayor has already warned water use has been trending up since last Saturday and she says more restrictions could come in place if that doesn’t come down. The second day of the G7 summit saw history being made with Pope Francis addressing world leaders at the event for the first time. As the world’s cameras were focused on the pontiff, Canadians were closely watching the summit’s sidelines — specifically Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi as the pair met for the first time face-to-face since Trudeau publicly accused India’s government of involvement of the assassination of a Canadian Sikh activist.
