Thousands in B.C., mark 1 year since killing of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar
A prominent proponent of an independent Sikh state, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was gunned down outside of the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Surrey, B.C., on June 18, 2023. Almost a year later, thousands of Sikhs from across Canada and other countries have travelled to B.C. to honour him.
