Today, four hostages were rescued alive during a heavy air and ground assault by the Israeli military. Dozens of airstrikes were carried out across Gaza in one of the deadliest assaults of the conflict. The Hamas-run health ministry says 210 people were killed. The hostages were freed from two locations and taken out of central Gaza by helicopter. Soon after, there were tearful reunions with loved ones. The four Israelis — held captive in Gaza for eight months — are now back in their families arms. David Akin reports. In Ontario, one of Canada’s most prolific billionaires is facing multiple sexual assault charges. Frank Stronach, 91, is the founder of Magna International — one of the country’s largest auto parts manufacturers. As Kyle Benning reports, there was more than one victim, with some of the incidents dating back to the 1980s. In Calgary, the city continues to press its residents to cut back on water use after a critical water main break on Thursday. Crews are still working to repair the damaged line and officials say it’s still days away from being back in service. As Carolyn Kury de Castillo reports, they also warn there’s a real risk the city could run out of water. Three hours north of Calgary is Edmonton where thousands of people were focused on one thing Saturday evening — the Oilers. The boys in blue and orange are in Florida, where they take on the Panthers in the first game of the Stanley Cup final. The war in Sudan has raged on for more than a year and the humanitarian crisis in the North African nation just keeps getting worse. People making up about a quarter of the country’s population have been forced out of their homes. Nearly two thirds of the country doesn’t have access to health care. And 18 million people are at risk of starving. The UN warns this war could spur the world’s largest hunger crisis. Redmond Shannon reports.
